Reasons To Take Music Lessons During Unprecedented Times
We are currently living in what could be the biggest catastrophe of our lifetime. It’s a hard truth to face but it’s one that we can’t ignore. As a society, we're anxious. So, tell me this, why would you take music lessons during this time?

For current students, this is an easy question to answer. But for potential clients, it has become incredibly difficult to portray this concept!
Here is my list of the top 5 reasons why you should take lessons even during the pandemic.
1. Structure
Music Lessons are a fantastic way to provide structure in your life. With the onset of online schooling, and summer break kids have not had the normal structure they are used to. Having daily practice requirements with weekly lessons is a great way to provide a sense of normalcy.
This also applies to my adult students. Many people are finding themselves not working as much, and not being able to do some of the things they would normally do. Replace your weekly trivia with lessons!
2. Community
You will find community within music lessons. Tretter Studios offers group lessons, and recitals every 3 months.
3. Goals
It can be really difficult to not have very many goals. Music can fill that void with milestones, and overall goals. Which can range from learning a few chords, learning your favorite songs, or prepping for an audition.
4. Therapeutic
I tell my students this all the time. Music is a medium for the soul. Your instrument should sing and replicate how you are feeling.
5. Sense of being
Music can ground you. In combination with everything on the list you will find yourself feeling normalcy again. Plus, music is fun!
